Fostering mental health awareness is not just a responsibility but a necessity. The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) underscores the importance of mental health programs in workplaces. According to Dr. Ma. Imelda S. Santos, Chief Labor and Employment Officer of the Bureau of Working Conditions, employers must “develop appropriate policies and programs on mental health in the workplace designed to raise awareness, address stigma and discrimination, support individuals at risk, and facilitate access to treatment and psychosocial support.” (DOLE, 2019)
The World Health Organization (WHO) defines mental health disorders as a “broad range of problems with different symptoms,” often characterized by abnormal thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships with others. (WHO, 2019) In the Philippines, mental health challenges are significant. The Department of Health (DOH, 2018) reported that mental disabilities rank as the third most common disability in the country. Additionally, nearly 3.2 cases of suicide per 100,000 Filipinos were attributed to depression in 2019. (World Population Review, 2019)
About the Program
Mindful EQ: Mental Health Training for Employees is an engaging and interactive program designed to address the critical importance of mental health and emotional intelligence (EQ) in the workplace. This training provides employees with tools to manage stress, enhance self-awareness, and create a supportive, mentally healthy work environment. By fostering resilience and emotional balance, organizations can improve productivity, morale, and employee satisfaction.

About the Trainers
MONICA SAGAD-MOLMISA is a highly regarded speech mentor, speaker, writer, and Certified Speech-Language Pathologist. A distinguished alumna of the University of the Philippines - Manila, Monica earned her Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology with scholastic merits. She served as the General Secretary of the Collegiate Association of Speech Pathologists (2010-2011) and is a certified member of the Philippine Association of Speech Pathologists (PASP).
Monica’s extensive professional experience includes working in renowned medical institutions such as The Medical City and Makati Medical Center. She also completed the Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Program at UP Manila in 2018, further enriching her expertise in addressing complex communication and developmental challenges.

This expertise is bolstered by her active collaborations with mental health advocates and professionals in the United States, Canada, and Australia. Monica’s exposure to global best practices and evidence-based approaches in mental health has positioned her as a trusted voice in fostering mental resilience.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Monica is a consistent achiever. She graduated as valedictorian from both grade school and high school at Paco Catholic School, one of the largest parochial schools in the Philippines. In 2008, she was named the school’s Most Outstanding Achiever of the Year for her excellence in academics, leadership, and extracurricular endeavors.

MARLON MOLMISA is a highly respected leadership coach, corporate trainer, business consultant, and motivational speaker who has been empowering leaders and organizations since 2012.
